Way of Awen playshops are a place to explore your sacred creativity in a safe, supportive, inspiring environment. Using art, poetry, storytelling, music, song, dance, mask-making - whatever skills and resources the group can offer - the awen is raised and praised; and the Bardic Mysteries are delved into and brought alive. Way of Awen playshops have took place in Bath and Stroud, with future ones planned in Cheltenham (see below). If you are interested in setting one up, contact Kevan and arrange a visit to an existing one. Alternatively, he can offer a talk on 'Setting up a Way of Awen playshop ' for expenses. |

Feedback from Spring Playshop participants, Hawkwood College, 2011:Inspiring stories - will definitely remember the experience. Thank you so much for your generous and creative spirit and through leading us in all mediums of creative expression I feel I have been kneaded and warmed. A potent experience on many levels. Thank you! I loved the story ritual which you held with awareness and sensitivity. I appreciated the references to Welsh spirituality as we looked over to Wales from Hawkwood.

NEW WAY OF AWEN COURSE STARTS JANUARY 2011 ISBOURNE HOLISTIC CENTRE, CHELTENHAM WAY OF AWEN - with Kevan Manwaring Thursdays 7.15pm-9.15pm from 19 January. Free taster on 12th January.
'Awen' is a Welsh word meaning 'muse' or 'inspiration'. Bards traditionally channelled this in their performances, but Awen is there for everyone to connect with. The Way of Awen is about living creatively, enriching the mundane with a shift of consciousness - a playful, joyous attitude to living. Using storytelling, art, creative writing, divination, movement, visualisation, ritual theatre, & spontaneity we'll explore Celtic legends and untap your bardic potential. Each week we'll focus on a different aspect of the tale of Taliesin 'shining brow' - an animal, an archetype - sharing our mutual research and journeying together into the heart of these ancient, but timeless mysteries that speak deeply to us about the soul's journey on this beautiful Earth. No experience or previous knowledge of the Bardic Tradition necessary. Whether you wish to embark on a bardic path, or simply wish to connect with your creativity, you will be enriched by walking the Way of Awen. Based upon The Way of Awen: journey of a bard, by Kevan Manwaring, published by O Books Fee: £120 for 12 weeks To book contact the office, The Isbourne Holistic Centre T: 01242 254321
